Troubleshooting

A file won’t open (“can’t be downloaded”)

Online-only files need an internet connection to download. Check that you’re online, then try opening the file again. If you’ll be offline, pin the files you need ahead of time (see Using the App).

It says I’m not syncing / disconnected

  1. Open the EUnifyer icon (menu bar on macOS, system tray on Windows/Linux) and check the status.
  2. Make sure you’re signed in — if you see Continue as your email, click it to sign back in.
  3. Check your internet connection.
  4. If it’s paused, choose Resume.

I keep getting asked to sign in

Your session may have expired or been reset by an administrator. Click Sign in with EUnifyer and complete the browser login again. If it keeps happening, contact your administrator — your account access may have changed.

The EUnifyer folder isn’t in my file manager

  • Make sure the app is running (its icon is in the menu bar on macOS, or the system tray on Windows/Linux).
  • Open the icon → Open EUnifyer folder.
  • If it’s still missing, quit and reopen the app.

Changes aren’t showing up on another device

Sync usually takes only a few seconds. If a change is slow to appear:

  • Confirm the other device is online and signed in.
  • Open the tray icon to check that syncing isn’t paused.

Start fresh

If something seems stuck, quit EUnifyer (tray icon → Quit) and reopen it. The app resumes exactly where it left off — your sign-in and synced files are preserved.

Windows: SmartScreen warning on install

The Windows installer is currently unsigned (our code-signing certificate is in procurement), so SmartScreen may warn you on first run. Click More info → Run anyway to continue — the download is safe, and you can confirm it by verifying the checksum.

Uninstall

  • macOS — quit EUnifyer (menu bar icon → Quit), then open Applications and drag EUnifyer to the Trash.
  • Windows — quit EUnifyer (tray icon → Quit), then remove it from Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
  • Linux — quit EUnifyer, then uninstall the package (sudo apt remove eunifyer / sudo dnf remove eunifyer) or delete the .AppImage file.

Your files remain safe in EUnifyer Drive — removing the app never deletes anything from your Drive, it only stops syncing on that computer. The local synced folder is cleaned up after you sign out of your computer.

Still stuck?

Contact your EUnifyer administrator or support@eunifyer.com. It helps to mention your app version (tray icon → Settings) and what you were doing when the problem happened.
