Troubleshooting
”Unidentified developer” / “Windows protected your PC”
The installers are not yet code-signed, so your OS may warn on first launch.
- macOS — right-click the app → Open → Open, or allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Windows — on the SmartScreen prompt, click More info → Run anyway.
See Download & Install for full steps.
I’m asked to sign in / sign-in fails
- EUnifyer Office requires an EUnifyer account — use the same credentials as the web app.
- It shares its login with the Desktop Sync App via your OS keychain. If sign-in is stuck, make sure Desktop is installed and signed in, then relaunch Office.
- Still failing? Sign out and back in from the app’s account menu.
See Sign In.
My documents aren’t syncing to Drive
- Confirm the Desktop Sync App is installed, signed in, and running (menu bar / system tray).
- Make sure you saved the file inside the
~/EUnifyerfolder — files saved elsewhere on disk are not synced. See Files & Sync. - Check the Desktop app for a paused or errored sync status.
A colleague can’t open my file
Save (or re-save) in the Microsoft format — .docx / .xlsx / .pptx —
which is the default. If you saved as OpenDocument (.odt / .ods / .odp),
use File → Save As and choose the Word/Excel/PowerPoint format, or File →
Export as PDF for a universally readable copy.
Formatting looks slightly different from Microsoft Office
EUnifyer Office has strong Microsoft compatibility, but very complex documents (advanced macros, intricate layouts, some SmartArt) can render with minor differences. For pixel-perfect sharing, export to PDF.
”Open in EUnifyer Office” doesn’t appear
The Desktop Sync App detects Office at its standard install location. If the action is missing, ensure Office is installed in the default path (see Download & Install) and restart the Desktop app.
